Calculators

TI-84 plus  graphics calculators;  other acceptable calculators: TI-82, 83 plus, 85, 86.   
 Calculators with symbolic manipulation capabilities are NOT acceptable.  
Course Grade
35% final exam, 50% three tests, 15% laboratory quizzes.

Final Exam

Tuesday, Dec 11, 2007, 8 AM - Noon
Locations to be announced.
Missing the final exam without the prior notification to and approval of me  will automatically result in the "F" grade for the semester; you need to present to me  a valid and written excuse from your doctor or dean within 1 day of the exam.

Quizzes

The quizzes will be given in Lab, each lasting about 10-20 minutes. The problems on the quizzes will be similar to the examples that I work on in my lectures and to the homework problems. Two worst quizzes will be dropped before a student's grade is calculated. There will be NO make-up quizzes.

Tests

The tests will also be given in Lab on the following dates:
Test 1:  121-13---September 25, Tuesday;  121-12, 14, 15--September 27, Thursday.
Test 2:  121-13---October 23, Tuesday;  121-12, 14, 15--October 25, Thursday.
Test 3:   121- 13---November 27, Tuesday;  121-12, 14, 15--November 29, Thursday.
No make-up tests will be given. However,  if you have a written excuse from your doctor or dean, and if you notify me within 3 days  of  the date of  the test that you are forced to miss, your other tests will weigh more.

Homework

Homework will not be collected. However, some homework problems with or without modifications will appear in the quizzes and tests.  Thus it is absolutely imperative for you to work on each and every homework problem assigned below.
